Help Shape the Future of Plant Health: BeXyl Thermal Treatment Questionnaire for Nurseries.

The BeXyl project has launched a "Thermal Treatment Questionnaire for Nurseries" to gain a better understanding of plant health management practices across Europe. Plant health is a key priority for nurseries, given the strict EU and international regulations, as well as customer expectations.
Thermal treatments —already approved for Vitis species under EU Regulation 2020/1201 (Article 22) for controlling Xylella fastidiosa— could be expanded to additional species in the future.

By collecting nursery sector opinions and experiences, the BeXyl research team (CNR and ENA) aims to:
-
Assess nursery sector knowledge of Xylella and perceptions of risk to trade and production.
-
Determine interest in adopting thermal treatments beyond Vitis.
-
Identify barriers and needed support (technical, financial, regulatory).
-
Guide future research by identifying high-priority plant species for expanded thermal treatment studies.
-
Measure willingness to stay informed about BeXyl or join future experimental activities.
All responses are voluntary, anonymous, and confidential, and processed in line with EU GDPR guidelines. The questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete.
Invitation to Participate
We invite all nursery professionals and stakeholders to contribute their expertise by completing the Thermal Treatment Questionnaire for Nurseries (BeXyl Task 3.4). Your insights are vital to shaping the future of plant health management and guiding new research and policies for thermal treatments in nurseries. Participation is simple, takes less than 10 minutes, and will help expand practical solutions to safeguard nursery production across Europe. All information will remain anonymous and secure, as per EU GDPR regulations.
